The pivotal pieces of my life were shaped I assume like any other, by the persons I was lucky to have come to know. Although my background is in science there was always a major part of my brain that recognized the value of art whether visual, musical, literary, modern or classical, a recognition that was nourished by my parents, some of my professors, friends and the reading of so many books on so many subjects too long to list. The first time I saw the Sistine chapel, the sculptures and the architecture of Michelangelo, I recognized what unchallenged genius was,is and will be forevermore. For me the biggest challenge was when still at the prime of my life I became a quadripligic in an auto accident when a young man ran a stop sign and hit my vehicle. A new reality and a new beginning was in store for me. I did not and would not let my paralysis define who I was or would become. Understanding how beautiful life really is I also understood how therapeutic art is and with the help of my family my artistic career began and the cross that I had to carry became lighter and lighter. I can not hold a brush so I found a way to insert the brushes in weight lifting gloves. The reason I\'m giving all these details is to instruct other persons in my condition to recognize their possibilities. For myself I would like people to judge my work only on its merit apart from my paralysis. I want to take this opportunity to thank artelista and all the participants of this wonderful website and a special attribute to Rita Belpasso artista and friend.
